“Nostalgia” is the intense and poignant Adagio from Concerto MM22, which gathers and exalts the composer’s deep attachment to life and loved ones, as experienced during the most difficult moments of an oncology hospital stay.
The cello melody in Nostalgia rises from the darkness, initially serene, then gradually intensifying in a passionate dialogue with the orchestra. At the peak of emotion, all resistance dissolves, and love for life triumphs over suffering and uncertainty.
